The POCO F2 Pro is getting its Android 11 update with MIUI 12
Last month, POCO opened up a beta program for the POCO F2 Pro, allowing early birds to try out MIUI 12 based on Android 11 before its final release. It looks like POCO has managed to iron out nasty bugs and instabilities from the user feedback as the company has started seeding the final software to those on the stable channel.
Multiple POCO F2 Pro users report that they have received the MIUI 12 Global Stable update on their phone. The Chinese variant received its stable update earlier this month, so it was expected that the global variant would follow suit shortly.
The MIUI 12 update, build number v12.2.1.0RJKMIXM, clocks in at 3.0GB in size and brings along September 2020 security patches. In terms of what’s new, users can look forward to all the new MIUI 12 goodies, including new system visuals and animations, enhanced privacy protection, Floating windows, a new Control Centre, AI Call assistant, and a whole lot more. Apart from MIUI 12-specific changes, POCO F2 Pro users will also benefit from a number of Android 11 improvements such as Chat Bubbles, smart device controls, one-time permissions for apps that request camera, mic, and location, wireless Android Auto support, and much more.
The stable MIUI 12 update has already started hitting POCO F2 Pro devices globally. Since this is a phased roll-out, it might take some time for the update to reach all devices. If you haven’t received the update notification yet, you can head to Settings > About Phone > MIUI version and click on the “CHECK FOR UPDATES” button to see if it’s available for your phone. If you want, you can also sideload the update by downloading it from the link below.
